MELBOURNE, Australia -- Montreals Eugenie Bouchard is out of the Australian Open. Chinas Li Na defeated Bouchard 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday in the semifinal of the womens singles tournament. The 19-year-old Bouchard is the first Canadian woman to reach the final four of a Grand Slam tournament in 30 years. "Im proud of how Ive improved as a player throughout the tournament. But Im never satisfied with losing. Im always disappointed," said Bouchard, who received a fifth stuffed Aussie animal -- an Emu named Sheila -- from her Australian fans dubbed the Genie Army. "I always want to go further and do better. I wouldnt say I exceeded my expectations, but Im happy with how I did." Li, the No. 4-seed and the 2011 French Open champion, is the only major winner and the highest-ranked player still in contention after the fourth-round upsets of Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. Defending champion Victoria Azarenkas lost in the quarter-final to Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland. No. 5 seed Radwanska was playing Dominika Cibulkova in the second semifinal later Thursday. Bouchard was determined to build off the success she experienced at the Australian Open. "Ive been working hard my whole life to do this, play at Grand Slams and do well," said Bouchard. "Its not an overnight thing. So Im just going to go back to the practice courts and keep working hard." Li, who lost last years final to Azarenka, was aggressive from the start against Bouchard, who started nervously and didnt win a point in her first three service games. Fittingly, Li finished off the match with a backhand crosscourt, one of 16 backhand winners in the match and her biggest weapon against Bouchard. "I think maybe she will be best player in the world. But today (Im) so lucky," said Li during a court-side interview after the match. Li jokingly apologized to the Genie Army after the match, undoubtedly increasing her own huge support base at Melbourne Park. "Sorry about that," she said. "If you guys be happy, I will go home." Bouchard said she changed her strategy to get out of her early slump. "I just wanted to get into the match a little bit more. I felt like she was really hitting her shots. I was just letting her do all these winners side to side, it wasnt really my game," said Bouchard. "I tried to get into the rallies more, try to step in a little bit more, and try to put more pressure on her because she was just putting a lot of pressure on me. "She didnt give me much breathing space, much room to do what I want to do on the court. I tried to put pressure, but she just played too good at moments." Wholesale Nationals Jerseys . "Ive still got it," Seattles ace said with a sly grin. Riding that fastball carrying a little more zip, Hernandez took a shutout bid into the ninth inning as the Mariners beat the Los Angeles Angels 3-1 on Wednesday night. On the verge of a brilliant shutout and first complete game since Aug. Tanner Rainey Nationals Jersey . The Kelowna, B.C. rink made the announcement on their facebook page on Thursday night. https://www.cheapnationals.com/857r-kyle...onals.html . Case in point: LeBron James vs. Ben McLemore. James was driving to the rim in the first quarter and McLemore decided to try to take the charge, which was quite admirable and predictably futile. James Bourque Nationals Jersey . A broadcast source said the deal is for five years. The agreement calls for a minimum of 17 regular-season games as well as the East and West Division finals being broadcast annually on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNEWS. Patrick Corbin Nationals Jersey . Ribery terrorized the Schalke defence throughout and put the home side ahead in the 36th minute when he chipped the goalkeeper before stroking the ball into the empty net. The French winger struck again after the interval, combining with Thomas Mueller on the left before firing a deflected shot beyond the helpless Timo Hildebrand in the 55th, as Bayern bounced back from Wednesdays 1-0 loss at FC Basel in the Champions League. The Winnipeg Jets return to MTS Centre for a 7:00 face off tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. The 31-30-9 Jets are coming off a 3-1 loss in St. Louis Monday night and currently sit with 71 points in the Central Division.  Winnipeg is six points behind Phoenix for a Western Conference Wild Card playoff spot.  The Coyotes also lead Dallas by two points and Vancouver by five. Al Montoya will start his third straight game in goal due to the injury of Ondrej Pavelec.  Head coach Paul Maurice said this morning Pavelec remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Dustin Byfuglien will miss his first game of the season tonight due to a lower-body injury.  Maurice hopes hell be able to play Saturday against Carolina. Eric Tangradim, who has been a healthy scratch for the last four games, replaces Byfuglien. Jets Projected Lines: Ladd-Little-FrolikKane-ODell-Setoguchi Tangradi-Jokinen-WheelerHalischuk-Cormier-Peluso Bogosian-EnstromStuart-TroubaParrdy-Ellerby Colorado is coming off a 6-3 loss in Montreal and did not have a pregame skate this morning at MTS Centre.dddddddddddd Reto Berra will start in goal.  It will be his first appearance with the Avalanche since being acquired from Calgary.  In 29 games with the Flames this season, Berra was 9-17-2 with a 2.95 goals against average and .897 save percentage. The 44-20-5 Avalanche have 93 points and sit second in the Central Division.  They are eight points back of first place St. Louis.   Colorado is the only team in the NHL to have not been shut out this season. Jamie McGinn is on a four-game point streak that includes three goals and three assists. This is the fifth and final game between these teams this season.  Colorado has a 3-0-1 record outscoring the Jets 11-9.  Matt Duchene leads the Avalanche in those games with four goals and an assist while Blake Wheeler has four goals and three assists for the Jets.
